3 Great Waterfalls in Cuyahoga Valley National Park

Two weeks ago, my family and I spent a day exploring the waterfalls of Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Ohio. We drove or hiked to several different look out points, while also visiting a handful of waterfalls. The following three waterfalls stood out to me and I’d recommend them to anyone who is planning a trip to visit this national park.

1. Brandywine Falls (Brandywine Gorge Trail): After stopping at the Boston Mill Visitor Center, this was our first stop and is a great place to start the day. The trail is a wooden boardwalk underneath a beautiful canopy of trees. It’s a fairly short walk down to the overlook to see Brandywine Falls. It’s a beautiful waterfall and is usually the one featured on brochures/maps of the national park.

(I didn't bring my camera on this trip, so these were all taken from my iphone.)

2. Bridal Veil Falls: From all of the places we visited in the national park, this was my favorite hiking trail. It was very scenic and you were able to walk along the creek which fed into this more gradual waterfall. The waterfall flowed over different layers of slate and underneath wooden bridges.

3. Great Falls of Tinkers Creek: Once we saw a handful of beautiful falls and trails, I thought we had seen it all but the Great Falls of Tinkers Creek was amazing. The waterfall is located in Bedford, Ohio. Majestic in size measuring 15 feet deep and with a crest of 80 feet. The water flowed off of large overhanging slabs of sandstone. The trail had various look out areas and paths the led down to the creek below, so you were able to view it from the base.
